It was a beautiful warm day in May for Joel and Maggie’s wedding at the Morning Glory Inn. You could feel their love for each other throughout the day. They celebrated their union surrounded by their loved ones.
We were honored to document the day for Maggie and Joel.
Since Maggie is from China and Joel grew up in Pittsburgh, they found ways to incorporate both cultures into the wedding. The ceremony was mostly a traditional American ceremony, but we also got to watch (and photograph) the traditional Chinese Wedding Tea Ceremony. Joel served tea to Maggie’s parents, and Maggie served tea to Joel’s. It was beautiful.
During the reception, guests had the option to try the Chinese, American or vegan cuisine.
Joel and Maggie didn’t want to do a First Look, but we realized that since Maggie was up on the porch, we could get a shot of them together without them seeing each other.
Joel and Maggie wrote each other notes to read before the wedding. Maggie was pretty happy with hers.
That face. OMG. Perfection.
The Maid of Honor was lovely, too.
Watch Joel’s face. This is the second before he saw Maggie like you just did.
And this is the second after.
He seemed impressed. His little brother seemed impressed too.
The tea ceremony:
I love the look of joy on their faces the minute after they got married.
The best man makes a toast. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place.
Then we sneaked them off for photos in the vicinity.
Cutting the cake.
They took dancing lessons. It showed.
A perfect day turned into a perfect night.
Best wishes to Maggie and Joel!
