“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
I am a photographer who was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I recently moved back to Michigan after living out of state for 10 years living in Pittsburgh, PA and Colorado Springs, CO.
I got into photography when I took a class on it in college and I got hooked ever since. I like to capture people – families, couples or singles being themselves and having a good time. I try to capture the kinds of photos that make you have warm and fuzzy feelings.
Since my son was born in 2018, I now understand the importance of family pictures because children grow up SO FAST. My kiddo is learning to walk and I’m like “BUT YOU WERE BORN YESTERDAY!” I can’t wait to show you your family through my eyes.
My true love (well besides my husband and kiddo) is birth photography. I remember my son’s birth. I felt like an empowered badass warrior who was bringing life into the world. I hired a birth photographer and I love looking back at those photos to remember the things that happened – like the first time I laid eyes on my kiddo, the skin-to-skin contact, the fingers wrapped around my finger, the tiny toes, and the first time my husband held our son in his arms.
I want to document those precious moments for others as well as the moments when a woman is being a badass warrior. Find out more about birth photography here.
